After the first Town Hall  Meeting at the Overcoming Church today, Merlin spoke with David Gootee, a police department chaplain and he asked him the same question: “What do you think your neighborhood would look like if the Kingdom of God was here?”  Listen today to David’s very detailed answer.

Yesterday Merlin talked with Bob, the founder of New Song Ministry in Brown County, asking him that same question: “What would your neighborhood look like if the Kingdom of God were present?”  Listen to his answer for it includes some aspects of the Kingdom blessing that haven’t been mentioned so far.  Can you tell what they are?

While off with his wife, Annie, on a 10-day sabbatical to write,  Merlin talks to a waitress at a small town restaurant and asks her the same question our series these past few weeks has been about: “What would your city look like if the Kingdom of God was here or God’s blessing was present?”  Listen in as she “gets real” with her answer.

Today we have more perspectives on the Kingdom of God in the workplace as Merlin talks with a worker at the Methodist Hospital ICU.  Are miracles hard to find amongst medical instruments and knowledge?  Listen in to hear what one Christian man thinks who works there.

What does the Kingdom of God look like… to those who work at or are being cared for in a hospital? Recently Merlin visited Indiana University Health Methodist Hospital to visit both with a patient, Terry, and a nurse in the ICU, Donna, to gain their perspectives. Listen in as you hear a patient who has experienced 20 surgeries in the past month talk about his perspective on the Kingdom and then hear what an ICU nurse has to say.

FHL’s “What would your neighborhood look like if..” interview series continues this time at the Super Bowl Village in Indianapolis as preparations continue for the Super Bowl this weekend.  Listen in as Merlin interviews some visitors from New England who tell us what they think their neighborhood would look like if Kingdom blessings were there.

In FHL’s ongoing series “What would your neighborhood look like if…?” , Merlin talks with a representative of the marketplace, Drew Mueller, the Vice President of Operations for Physical Subcultures of Brazil LLC.  Drew tells us about what he thinks God’ s blessings would look like in the market place.  Does it take courage to make the right choices in your life?  If so, what do those choices look like to a businessman?  Listen now as Drew Mueller shares his perspective on these questions.

Merlin interviews a Hoosier councilman today by teleconference to get his perspective about the Kingdom of God in His neighborhood.  Listen in to hear how this city councilman believes that first bringing people together could prove to be the biggest blessing from God that his neighborhood could receive and why.

As part of MLK day,  FHL partnered with the volunteers of IUPUI to help service people and areas in the Martindale-Brightwood area, the Boys and Girls Club of Troy Ave. and the FHL offices.  As part of volunteer orientation, Merlin greeted the volunteers and spoke to them about the projects for that day and asked what each one thought about how things could improve in their community.  Doing right to others is the core of community improvement.  Listen in now as these 8 students share with us their vision for changing their communities as they respond to the question: “What would your school or neighborhood or home look like if you could say ‘the blessing of God is here.’?”
